Question: Can alterations be made to the standard kitset house and building plans?

Ans: Answer: Yes – our kitset building system is based around 1.2m modules. We can work alterations to suit.

Question: Can a client purchase some items loaclly and have these taken out of the specification?

Ans: Answer: Yes – so long as the items are not structural. For example if a client wanted to supply thier own kitchens or plumbing fittings we would remove these from our supply specification and reduce the price accordingly.

Question: Can the kitpac buildings be assembled on a concrete slab foundation?

Ans: Answer: We market two prices. One is for a timber pile foundation on a flat site. This includes fixings and a 17mm plywood floor that could be varnished, painted or covered with floor coverings. The second price deletes all of the sub floor and ply flooring but includes fixing to a slab foundation provided by the client.

Question: Do you build the kitset homes and classrooms as well as supply?

Ans: Answer: If you would like to purchase a quantity order we would negotiate the supply of either builders and/or instructors to show locals how to erect.

Question: Would unskilled labour staff be to erect the buildings.

Ans: Answer: We advise a builder oversees the foundation stage. A competent handyperson would be able to complete the construction of an ECO Panel kitset building with a minimum number of tools.

Quest: Question: What additional costs apply to imported buildings.

Ans: Answer: We supply current list pricing on request. The list price may or may not include a 12.5% NZ GST Tax. This tax is deducted for international supply. The price list will clearly show if the GST Tax has been included. Clients will need to allow for the following:

· Shipping, Handling & Transport

· Import Tariffs

· Local Customs Duties

· Container Fumigation

· Any local GST or VAT

Quest: Question: What building code or standards are the ECO Panel kitset buildings designed to comply.

Ans: Answer: All models are designed to exceed the minimum requirements of the New Zealand Building Code and associated New Zealand Standard NZS3604. We have found that the requirements of these standards are at least consistent with or exceed others around the world. Futher tho these codes we use independant internationally recognised Engineers to certify our buildings.

Question: Are the kitset buildings termite resistant

Answer: All structural components are treated to resist termites

Question: Can a clint just buy the building plans?

Ans: Answer: No – our system is specifically designed and the components must be manufactured under our quality control to ensure high performance

Question: How is the decorating completed?

Ans: Answer: The exterior is supplied pre-primed in the factory ready for two topcoats of paint. If you prefer to stain the exterior please advise us and we will supply without the prime coat. The interior can be varnished giving a warm honey appearance or painted. We recommend the floors are sealed with varnish during the construction. Clients provide their own floor coverings, curtains etc.

Question: Is a drywall soft plasterer required?

Ans: Answer: No – the internal walls are all timber finished negating the need for plasterers.

Question: What is Shadowclad exterior cladding?

Ans: Answer: Shadowclad is a brand name for 12mm bandsawn ply sheets. This is a sustainable product with excellent building characteristics.
